Passmore Group Dancing Queen Sarah Places Top 5 In Ballroom and Latin

20 November 2020

With Strictly Come Dancing on our screens encouraging us to get our groove on and restrictions meaning Strictly contestants having to unfortunately leave due to COVID diagnoses. Local Dance schools have taken the initiative to create dance competitions online to score contestants moves on the dance floor.

Passmore Group’s very own Installations Co-ordinator Sarah entered online dance competition ‘Dance Blast’ that saw her place 4th in Latin and 5th in Ballroom, with her dance school Edmonds Dance Centre dominating the top 5 and top 4 positions of these categories!

Contestants were invited to film and submit their dance routines in either Ballroom, Latin, Hip- Hop or Cheer Dance. Filmed by their dance teachers, they were given one month to create and practice their routines and send them in for evaluation by Dance Blast judges by the end of October.

Videos were required to be 1 min 30 seconds long and dancers had to be in full competitive dress, as seen in the beautiful pics of Sarah above.

With overall around 100 dancers entering different age categories split between dance difficulty levels of beginner, intermediate and advanced. It was a tough competition and great result for Sarah, who has been dancing with Edmonds Dance Centre dance school for over 20 years.

Sarah started competitively dancing at the age of 5 in Ballet, Theatre, Modern & Tap and later at the age of 11 focused on dancing in Ballroom, Latin, Freestyle & Rock ‘n’ Roll and has gathered over 100 trophies! See pictures of Sarah aged 12 and 14 below.

Sarah commented “I am extremely delighted with my result, I usually enter around 6 dance competitions a year that have all unfortunately been cancelled due to COVID, it’s been great to have the opportunity to compete again”.

Congratulations again Sarah, everyone at Passmore Group is proud, you get a 10 out of 10 from us.
